Black hole’s life at colliders

چکیده
In the series of papers by Ida, Oda and Park, the complete description of Hawking radiation to the brane localized Standard Model fields from mini black holes in the low energy gravity scenarios are obtained. Here we briefly review what we have learned in those papers. * Speaker. † We thanks to Daisuke Ida and Kin-ya Oda for valuable collaborations. c Copyright owned by the author(s) under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike Licence.

Self force on a scalar charge in the spacetime of a stationary, axisymmetric black hole
We study the self force acting on a particle endowed with scalar charge, which is held static (with respect to an undragged, static observer at infinity) outside a stationary, axially-symmetric black hole. We find that the acceleration due to the self force is in the same direction as the black hole’s spin, and diverges when the particle approaches the outer boundary of the black hole’s ergosph...
متن کاملBrownian Motion of Black Holes in Dense Nuclei
We evaluate the Brownian motion of a massive particle (“black hole”) at the center of a galaxy using Nbody simulations. Our galaxy models have power-law central density cusps like those observed at the centers of elliptical galaxies. The simulations show that the black hole achieves a steady-state kinetic energy that is substantially different than would be predicted based on the properties of ...
متن کاملEnergy and angular momentum flow into a black hole in a binary
As a black hole in a binary spirals in gradually from large separation, energy and angular momentum flow not only to infinity but also into or out of the hole. In addition, the hole’s horizon area increases slowly during this process. In this paper, the changes in the black hole’s mass, spin, and horizon area during inspiral are calculated for a hole in a circular binary with a companion body o...
متن کاملNew horizons for Hawking radiation
In 1974, Steven Hawking predicted that black holes were not completely black, but were actually weak emitters of blackbody radiation generated close to the event horizon—the boundary where light is forever trapped by the black hole’s gravitational pull [1]. Hawking’s insight was to realize how the presence of the horizon could separate virtual photon pairs (constantly being created from the qua...
متن کاملMassive disk formation in the tidal disruption of a neutron star by a nearly extremal black hole
Black hole–neutron star (BHNS) binaries are important sources of gravitational waves for second-generation interferometers, and BHNS mergers are also a proposed engine for short, hard gamma-ray bursts. The behavior of both the spacetime (and thus the emitted gravitational waves) and the neutron star matter in a BHNS merger depend strongly and nonlinearly on the black hole’s spin. While there is...
